Leica's serial number lists are only a guide and there are lots of cameras not numbered where they should be. Some six frame finder, hot-shoe equipped M4-P prototypes show up in the M4 production runs with M4 cosmetics. It is also very easy to switch serial numbers on the M4-2 and up cameras. So relax and enjoy the camera and do not worry about the serial number stuff.
