I usually shut up when Adams is mentioned and sometimes think I am really far
off the wall in my perceptions.  I finds his portraiture very powerful.  Even
more powerful is some of his documentary work done during the 40's and 50's.
My real question is "Has the Portland area become one of the centers of
photographic innovation?"  I sense that there is a disproportionate number of
interesting posts (not just from Rabiner) from the Portland area (and not just
on this list).
