Photographic abilities are not particularly important, you practice until you get the hang of it. It is not rocket science people!. However, people management skills and absolute anal attention to details are far more important. You cannot fix the child with their tongue out or the bride with the fallen hair do in the darkroom. You may be able to do something on the computer but not and make money as well. When people ask me to photograph at their wedding, I only agree if there is a pro involved as well. Let them have the worry and the work, I want to have fun. 2) Beg, badger and cajole, by any means possible, the bride and groom to have their portraits (together and apart) done the week before. I insisted on this when my delightful wife and I were married and she has thanked me for it ever since. Hmm, did I miss anything Buzz?
