Hi John, I was browsing a Karsh book in the library the other day. Many of the portraits are memorial, that is, what we will remember, like the shot of Albert Einstein or Queen Elizebeth and many others. It's easy to put down that type of studio style; it's been out of fashion for decades, and yet Karsh images remain because he was THE best in that style and had the 'name' subjects (as well as the less known).
