Subject: [Leica] archival quality of XP2, Tmax400CN or Colour Neg

Thanks for your response.

Two LUGgers reported faded XP1 negs, most others say the chromogenics should be
ok, or even should behave better than colour neg film. Astonishingly nobody
reported faded colour negs!

In the context of the the Kodachrome versus E6 exchange, I remember statements
claiming that modern E6 materials are now approaching Kodachrome in permanence.
Is there similar progress in C41 material and are there any "official"
statements from the film makers on this behalf?

Even if C41s are more prone to fading and subject to inadequate handling at a
consumer lab, how that compares to the risk of screwing up something at home
(wrong time, scratches, stains, insufficient fix time etc.)?
