(not from the selenium >solution, but in the developer) Rob I suspect that you are still searching for the right brew. I graduated from Ilford Universal to Agfa Neutol WA and never turned back. What a developer! Fast working....beautiful blacks....stunning highlights.....good shadow details.....long lasting...good keeping properties.....economical. I highly recommend that you give it a try.
