Went back and checked some old prints(printing on Brilliant and
Arista/Ilford lately). I think I see what you mean, but If I remember
correctly I pulled my prints from the toner before the highlights started to
go. The ones with toned highlights were toned in the shadows and midtones as
well, a result of a looong time in the selenium. Do your highlights go
first? Maybe more time?
And so as not to be a liar. My Forte prints aren't  dark chocolate brown in
selenium(confusing my Forte and Brilliant), but more of a red/brown.
