Austin,

Although Adams did use a Hasselblad, most of his early and mid-period
landscape work was large format -- 8x10 predominantly. He also used a
Contax RF for informal portraiture, the aformentioned Hasselblad, various
Polaroid cameras (and polaroid film in large-format), and even a Leica R4
late in life.

I only know this 'cos I just saw a large show, Ansel Adams and the
American West (currently in Portland, Maine), which inspired me to read
his autobiography.
