Sherry "strongly encouraged" it (those of you who have worked with Sherry 
likely know what I mean). Plus, my M4-P has the bulb synch still so I have an 
out should I ever need it. 

BTW, I played around with flash bulbs a bit back in my camera store days. 
Once, I used a flash bulb to pull off a fill-flash assignment in school 
because I was using Nikon F bodies (with 1/60 sych) and couldn't balance the 
light any other way. My images blew away the instructor as the best balanced 
shots of the class, though he sort of backed off his praise when he found out 
I used bulbs (not practical I guess). Since then I've had cameras that 
synched at 1/250 and have not had need for bulbs. But now that I'm using 
Leicas with their 1/50 synch, well, like you say, you never know  . . .
