Well, nonetheless, it does so.  The Summitar cap just works on E39 lenses
with filters.

The Summitar cap (Leitz ORSTO) had a 3/16" lip on the front surface, while
the Summicron cap (ORQDO/14031 in chrome, 14122 in black), has a very
narrow raised rim on the outer edge of the front surface.  The early ORQDO
and the ORSTO both bear "Leica" in script, in the early '50's manner.
