Subject: [Leica] RE: Leica Horror Stories

Last Thanksgiving, I am going to see my parents. Load the kids up in the
wagon, load the luggage, and almost as an afterthought casually drop the
M6-TTL in the back. We drive 1.5 hours and arrive at my parents. At this
point I have compeltely forgotten that the camera is loaded with the
luggage, my mind is numbed since the kids (3 and 5yrs) have been at each
other throats for almost the entire drive and I have been listening to
Barney music! Right now all I want to do is get inside, pour some Laphroig
down my throat and let my kids be perfect angels with their grandparents.
Did I mention that I have now forgotten that the Leica is loaded with the
luggage? So as I am grumpily and brutishly unloading the luggage, out of the
bootom corner of my eye I see something go flying out of the wagon. There
is a grinding/crushing sound as it hits the stone pavement about 3 feet
away. ARGGHHHH... that was my Leica! Scratched bottom plate on the M6, but
the 50 Summicron took most of the impact. No visible damage but the focus
ring jams and required real force to turn. R. Mueller fixed it for me.
