Higher dilutions give you more pronounced edge effects which pass for or really
make for a "sharper" and so on image.
Also more compensation: less blocking of the highlights.
And perhaps a tad more grain as there would be less Sulfite used per liter in
the final formula with Developers which use Sulfite which are most of them.
With Rodinol 1:100 gives you a highlight glow effect.
Some slow films benefit from the dilution because their developing times are too
short for consistency.
