To anyone older than 58 this would simply be a descriptive word. Watch a newsreel. Maybe we should give them a break although no law says an old dog can't learn a new trick. Mark (I ain't no Hebrew) Rabiner - -------- DR. BLACKTAPE, WHO'S HERITAGE IS JEWISH, CAN REMAIN SILENT NO LONGER.... ....And has to wonder what is causing people on this list to loose their grip on common decency. Yes, people over 58 remember a time when Japanese were referred to as "Japs." So? Most Southerners over the age of, say, 35, remember a time when blacks were Niggers, and most Americans over the age of 60 certainly remember hearing the word Kike used in polite company. And how about Fag? How about Wop? How about Dago? Oh, and as John McCain would have it, how about Gooks? And don't forget Slopes and Slants - or Chinks, or Jiggaboos,oh, or Heymies, Pansies, Poofsters, Darkies, Lesbos... ...There is NOTHING less offense about any of those terms than there is about the use of Japs. Dr. Blacktape would suggest that the only persons over 58, or any age for that matter, who can't remember that certain terms are no longer acceptable anywhere other than an Aryan Nation's meeting are probably suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
