There's been a theme on the LUG suggesting that Leica should enter into the
Nikon/Canon/Minolta price/volume arena. It appears that the opposite is
occurring.

It could be competition for Leica, but I also think it means opportunity.
If other companies promote high end rangefinder cameras, some people will
surely be drawn to Leica. It's the economic concept of complementary goods.
It doesn't matter how well anyone else makes or markets a rangefinder. It
would take years of chiseling away to topple Leica's seat on the throne.
