Can you name any country that treats >outsiders more 'equally' than the US? For people with dark skin, most countries in the so-called "Third World." [Austin] Skin color, is a very visually differentiating feature. So is dress. If you look like the other people in the country you visit, you do not show any obvious differentiation, and they don't know you aren't from there, unless you open your mouth. >Parts of other countries treat you >somewhat 'equally' because you have money to spend (or treat you nice, but >charge you more...), but if you lived there, you would see the differential >biases. It's human nature to treat people who 'look' like you more equally >than people who are 'different'. And that is why your statement is true mostly for people with white skin, not for everyone. There's a lot more out there than just white people. [Austin] Please explain more about what you mean and why you say that, and perhaps an example. My experience has shown that it has nothing to do with being white...and I don't understand why it would.
