I haven't encountered that many other fans, but I'm getting pretty good
results from the Minolta Dimâge Multi:

All the pictures I've dropped under:

  http://krusty.oven.com/temp-displays/

were done with that scanner; one (look for "2820" in the filename) is
even at full scanner resolution.
