I learned at the Photo Manufacturers Association (PMA) convention (2/5/00)
that the Epson 1200 has been replaced by the 1270 model. I am sure that the
1200 is still available but do not know how it differs from the new 1270.

In a number of VERY important ways...

The new 1270 will have a new ink cartridge that, when combined with Epson's
heavy matt photo paper, is said to produce a print with a longevity of at
least 15 years..

The new 1270 has an ink drop that is about 1/3 smaller than that produced by
the 1200.

The 1270 can produce an honest-to-God 11x14....

All of which would, IMHO, make it well worth waiting for...
