[ SNIP ] one source told me not to bother with the
Nikon LS2000 (@ dmax 3.6), because the LS-30 (@ dmax 3.0)
already pushes the output range of the Epson to its
limits. If that is true, is there any point in getting more
scanner than I can use -- ? -- or am I overlooking something?
--> would it not make a lot of sense to get the best
scanner you can afford to get the best digital files
of your work regardless of your current output device ?
--> I'd suppose the best file upfront makes for less loss
through the various phases of digital manipulation
(or more possibilities downstream)...
--> output devices will surely improve fast as there
is a huge market for these; your other output probably
will be the Internet as such, which does not require the ultimate
quality for a webpage but can be a medium to show your work
at its best if you decide to build up a personal gallery / portfolio
through the years.

If we live, it is for the Lord that we live,
and if we die, it is for the Lord that we die.
So wether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.
