Volvos seem to be most safe and inexpensive to operate.   Last year, we
traded our 87 model 240 in on a used low mileage 960.   It is the model they
made with a
a six cylinder engine which we really love.   The 960 is a far more user
friendly car than our 240 was.  It sure has luxery.
