Subject: RE: [Leica] 39mm vs E39 Filter Threads?

I have about half a dozen Nikon 39mm filters which fit Leitz lenses.
They're from the back of a mirror lens I believe.
But the difference between E39 and 39mm camera thread is obviously
different, the E39 is x0.5mm pitch whereas the camera is 39mm x 26tpi
(threads per inch)

I bought a Nikon 39mm filter at a swap meet for more than a few dollars and
it
sure does not fit my Leica lenses!!!!
I believe the threads are reversed. So there is no normal threads I have to
make
sure a 24 E thread for my Rollei 35 is just right because there are all
kinds of
threads in that size as well.
