Great news that Leica still have parts for the old M-types!
May I ask if you sent your M2 to Leica in the US, or did it go all the way to Germany?

BTW, I changed the leatherette myself on a M4 back plate. I ordered it from my Leica dealer, and he got it in just a few days. But a back plate is easily done, compared to a camera body...
