These are people making excuses for a lens that exhibits a noticeable 
defect.  While most folks don't take pictures of documents, many DO take 
architectural shots.  Curvature of field can be a real pain in the butt when 
you are in a lower light situation and want sharpness across the frame.  I 
notice this problem with my Summicron R50..You really need to be at f3.5 or 
smaller to get perfect results.  This was not so with my Planar 
1.4..Although that lens had other even more irritating traits.
