Two M6's, so one's always at the ready, maybe that's the moral of the story??? :-) -----Original Message----- From: Kyle Cassidy [mailto:cassidy@netaxs.com] Sent: Friday, January 21, 2000 12:57 PM To: leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us Subject: [Leica] damnit! so i'm out shooting with my m6 yesterday, it's dark out, i'm shooting by street light ... i get to the end of a roll, wait! what's this! great shot coming up! two people walking towards me carrying a huge plastic cow upside down on their backs. i rewind my film, fast fast fast, remove the baseplate -- people and cow getting closer! -- remove old film, put in new film, close up baseplate -- wind click! wind click! wind click! -- they're on top of me! no time to meter, grab the shot! got it! wshew! off to shoot more -- about five shots later, i tilt the camera up to take a shot of a building spire, something cold flaps onto my cheek -- the backplate! damnit! i put the baseplate on without properly seating the backplate! @#$@#$! -- remove the -- what?! where the heck is my base plate! nothing but FILM here at the bottom of my camera (gloves on, you know, can't feel a thing) -- run back along the route i traversed (thanks for the snow, i know exactly where i went) -- ah ha! here's my baseplate, in three inches of snow. wipe it off on my shirt, put it back on the camera - -- off again. where did those two guys with the plastic cow go? kc moral of the story? who knows.
