On the streets, in peoples foyers, on their property, yes. Spainards are
some of the most cordial people I've met. However, tripods aren't accepted
in most institutions. Can't compete with the 'professional' slides purchased
at the institutions 'store'.

Having said this, I've been carrying a 4x5 around Spain/Portugal for the
last five years and they really had a problem with me. So when they saw my
50lb pack and very large tripod, they usually blocked me at the door.

Most people with 35s and no tripods had no problems.

You might try a monopod.

by the way. Spain in April is a real special time. the light is spectacular.

I have an opportunity to visit Spain in March/April. I wil be in Madrid and
Barcelona.
Can anyone tell me if tripods are allowed in general, specifically on the
street and especially in and around the churches and national historic
monuments?????

The M6 with 28, 35 F2 Aspheric, 50 F2, and 90 F2.8 will be the chosen
ones......No flash.
Velvia ? or Print film due to the harsh light? + HP5+

Suggestions on places to shoot?

Where can I have my film E6 and C41 and HP5+ processed in Madrid ( My buddy
be shooting a 4x5, so I need references on that too..... )

Thanks
