Comes from the German; 'Einschrauben', meaning 'to screw in'. As opposed to
the 'A' filters from Leica, the 'Aufsteck' or clip on type, as in A36.
Different 'E' type filters can have different thread pitches, as in 'E67'
almost works in items threaded for Series VIII retaining rings.
