Which will be useful while the sun's out when they get the the new
shutter in there, with the higher sync speed.  Which many people (quite
possibly including myself) might not like for all occasions, because
it'll probably be metal-bladed, and electronically-timed to boot.  Which
is why the pre-TTL M6 would've been a fine place to stick an R6.2-like
stake in the ground for traditionalists, then give people like the R8
design team (they did an *exceptional* job) a nearly-clean piece of
paper for the next generation.

Unless they're really out of M6 electronics, and for some reason can't
make more.  That's a scary idea.
