Man, that thing just keeps calling me more and more. When I first handled it, it seemed THICK. Now it feels "sensual". I think I'm being seduced. Several people have commented about the shutter release lag. I too felt that there was a small delay before exposure was made. Having spent more time with it, I have found that because the mirror flip is initially so silent, it appears that there is a delay. You can test this for yourself by removing the lens and releasing the shutter. Very nice system. Now, while I'm at it. I was looking at the 180 f2.0 and 2.8 for my indoor soccer shooting. Both look just great. However, if you think the M prices are high, look at R lens prices of these beauties - breath taking. The elmarit is $3055.00 and the Summicron is $5395.00. I must really be under a spell because I read Erwin's report of these two babies and all of a sudden I'm looking at things I can sell to finance this habit. So far though, my wife has drawn the line at her and the kids.... - ----- Original Message ----- From: Eric Welch <ewelch@neteze.com> To: Leica Topica <leica@topica.com> Sent: Tuesday, December 14, 1999 9:52 PM Subject: [Leica] Motor Driver R8 > Just saw this on Tamarking's web site! > > Motor Drive R8 Set #14431battery pack & charger $799 > > Aout times! > -- > > Eric Welch > Carlsbad, CA > http://www.neteze.com/ewelch > > Zen master to hotdog vendor.
