The R7 handgrp is taller, becuase the R7 is taller than pervious R cameras.
You cannot use the regular grip on the R7.

The R8 is the first R camera to rewind film.

Built-in flash, mirror lockup and the way it works, built-in flash meter,
matrix metering, better TTL flash, brighter viewfinder, LED readout,
dediated batteries for the motor and winder. Lots of other reasons I'm not
thinking of.
