If you compare the exposed film areas, using approximate measurements which 
will be near enough for the purpose;

35mm film = 39 x 1 x 1.5 = 58.5 sq in.

120/620 film = 12 x 2.25 x 2.25 = 60 sq in.

That's near enough about the same I think!
