Every bit as good as -- perhaps a >bit better corner-to-corner than -- the *x42 glasses, but much handier >to tote around and comfier in the hand than the bigger glasses. And >they focus usefully closer than the 8x42BAs. Birders love 'em. But - For gosh sakes, *don't* burden her with a pair of the 8x50s! To say that they are heavy would be a gross understatement. I used to have a pair of the Marsept 7x50s (WWII vintage) that were lightweight and had an awesome exit pupil. I just wish Leica - - or someone - - would put those back into production, complete with the super prisms and multicoated optics. They would be a smash hit. George George Berger gberger@his.com
