That said it is a much older design, and does not test out anywhere near the performance of the APO, or some 100mm range macro's from other brands. As a thought, what about the 35-70 f4 vario? It has a macro setting, and gets great reviews from all who have used it. It is on my x-mas list:) Another thought is a bellows to be used with a Summicron 50.
