I had the greatest pleasure viewing a major show of Erwitts work at a chateau
in France. The work was some of the best I have ever seen without a doubt,
combining humour and pathos through his keen eye.

But what a disappointment a number of the display prints were quality wise.
One print, behind glass, had a large gash across the surface, and several
others were creased badly or had badly soiled mounts.
