When focused at 5 feet, the 50/1.0 at f/1.0 has two inches of DOF coverage. When focused at 5 feet, the 75/1.4 at f/1.4 has less than one inch of DOF. If you independently move the cameras so that the image size on the film is equal, the DOF at identical f/stops will be identical. Here, the Noctilux, because it has f/1.0, it can render less DOF when the image sizes are equal. f/1.4 vs f/1.0. Go to http://www.cs.ucla.edu/~simonw/DoF/ to do your own calculations.
