Some 25 years ago I went with my then girlfriend (and now wife) to a flea
market in Hamburg, Germany. She found a white porcellan serving plate that
she liked, and asked about the price.

- - It is 30 Marks, the stall holder said.
- - That's too much, I'll give you 20 Marks
_ Look it has got a swastika underneath, that's why it is 30 Marks
- - If it has got a swastika underneath it is only worth 10 Marks!

She took the the plate, gave the guy 10 Marks and walked away. He was
absolutely flabbergasted by this argument and did not say a single word in
protest.

I have not been giving this plate any special treatment, and in fact had
forgotten all about the stamp on the bottom side (although the plate is in
constant use and I do a fair proportion of the dish washing) until reading
all this about the Nazi Leicas....
