I believe this  is wrong, probably brought about by the erroneous post last
week that the M3 was  baed on the Contax IV. AFAIK the M3 was based on a
1930's Leica prototype called the LEICA IV. There are pictures and
discussions onthis in van Hasbroek, Lager etc..
