I prefer it over the Nikon due to the diffusion light source, which seems to give me particularly good B&W results. The ES is a 10bit/channel unit, the Plus is a 12bit/channel model. You can see scads of pictures scanned with this unit on my website. The latest ones are the "Morro Bay" and "Central Valley, California" links.
