Absolutely.  IDC is now British owned, though the government is (if I
remember correctly) still the largest shareholder of NTT.

AT&T, Sprint/MCI, Bell Canada, and probably every single telco around the
world are controlled by the government to a degree, whatever that may mean.
Finance, telco and utility industries remain the most regulated industries
in all developed nations.

Anyway, back to regularly scheduled programme...
