Akhil,
Pukka Gin means good information,
Duff Gin means bad information,
I believe the above was used by the English Army in India.  I still come
across the phrases which are still used by my Canadian and British
cohorts.
Reference the Pukka Leica usage I think the originator meant "Good Leica
Information".  Evendently there is allot of Duff Gin concerning Leica.
