I guess I just found the deal of the century then. I went to the Leica
dealer here in Dallas & found one with the eyes they had just taken in,
clean glass, no fog I can detect, later dual scales, and smooth focusing
movement, for $295 + tax, $320 total. When I asked why they had it at that
price, he said "That's all they're worth!"

Alistair: >>>> 50mm f:2 Summicron-DR 1950xxx mint-/exc+++  650.00

And Stan backs that up:

Leica 50/2 Summicron DR Ex++/M- $595/$695
<<<<

...But those prices are for DR's WITH the eyes. If you find a nice DR
that is missing its eyes, it can be a great bargain compared to either
the complete DR or the Rigid. And who in the world NEEDS the eyes these
days, to do something any SLR can do better? A DR without eyes is one of
the few bonafide bargains in Leicadom.

...A situation which will end if we keep talking about it, of course.
;-)
