As the adverts say, "...some limitations may apply". IMHO, if you don't need the closeness, avoid this lens. It is generally more expensive than the rigid (collectors!), offers imvho no measurable optical advantages (the optical formula was the same as the then-current rigid), and ergonomically it is clumsier (ring spacing/closeness) and heavier. Some claim that it is a real great performer, but this hasn't to my knowledge ever been backed by meaningful detail. I've had two, they were both fine. I sold them both, bouth rigid, and pocketed the difference. Make sure that the eyes you get work properly. The lens came in two version, 19" and 20". See Mr Gandy's website for more info. It's kind of the reverse to the collapsible 'cron right now, in that it is in favour for largely intangible, ephemeral reasons, while the coll. is out of favour for different, but equally nutso reasons. best of light, Alistair - -----Original Message----- From: claire [mailto:clairetm@singnet.com.sg] Sent: Tuesday, November 02, 1999 7:02 AM To: leica-users Subject: [Leica] .....DR Summicron...
