Peter, No, I want one not so much because it is rare, it's because it is so beautiful. Besides, I did have a SL500 once. Sometimes, owning the current model of a product makes you appreciate its predecessor even more. Having also owned a recent Porsche, I am now hoping to acquire an early 911. And to stay on topic, I started off with an M6 years ago, but I have since learned to appreciate the M2/3/4. The newer offerings may be more efficient and easier to use, but I also find the classics more pleasing to my eyes. Just my 2 cents.
