Mike,

Speaking as someone who once traded in an M4 and three lenses on Pentax MX
equipment, I can tell you that getting rid of your only Leica gear is a
decision you will come to regret bitterly as the years go by.  The G1 and
its lenses may be more practical, but the M3 is what you should keep, for
any number of aesthetic, artistic and historical reasons.

Think of the paring down of your lens complement to that single 50 as a
"focussing" of your artistic vision.  You will become a better photographer
as a result.
