This isn't possible for most items in most stores. It would take quite a while to set up a slide projector and test it, wouldn't it? And how would I test the Nikon scanner that turned out to be defective before leaving the store? I'd prefer that vendors simply make an effort to sell only merchandise that works. -- Anthony
