The advantage to the M series is that the camera is very primitive. This being so, it is easy to replace a film back with a digital back. The design of the back and base of the camera make this even easier. With automatic-everything cameras, a lot of redesign is required to accommodate digital backs, but with something as simple as the M6, hardly any changes would be necessary. -- Anthony
