I can't answer as to the Leica R screens, but I'm using a Maxwell screen in both my Rolleiflexes ('51 3.5MX Tessar, '81 3.5F "Whiteface" Xenotar). The difference between his screen and the stock screens in either camera is just staggering: about 3 stops brighter overall, even illumination right to the corners, and far far easier to focus. The new screen transforms the '51 camera into the equal of a '90s camera viewfinder-wise. The '81 is even better due to a better mirror. I tried a Beattie Intenscreen in a Hasselblad at the local shop and was very unimpressed. Yes, it was very bright, but it was not easy to focus with. Godfrey
