If size where not a problem, lenses could be better, but unwieldly. The famous Zeiss lenses for the Contarex followed this design principle: A lens should be designed for image performance, whatever size it takes. So the world saw astonishingly good performance in a unwieldy package. Exit the Contarex. ERwin
