Side note here, Tim - the Honduran general who has been in charge of the reforestation program in Honduras for several years is also the owner of the largest lumber company in Honduras. Slight conflict of interest there. Honduras does not have the reputation of the second most corrupt government in the world for nothing. On topic - I used my Leica's to photograph the destruction caused by Mitch to raise money for the relief efforts. In June I visited tent cities where hundreds of families have been living in tents for nine months while they are rebuilding their homes. Now it is flooding again in the areas where they have started to rebuild. I don't know how much more the rural people can take before they just give up. After only two weeks, I was ready for a hot bath and a place to sit anywhere that wasn't muddy!!! My Leica M's were fine in the monsoon rains and mud. You really don't have to baby them. I agree that most Central Americans seem to be sensitive about the fact that they are Americans, too. There is even a Spanish word for United Statesians!!
