If you are going to look at the Gitzo 1228, you might also consider the
1227. It's longer and weighs a tad more (.25lb) but is taller and has only 3
sections instead of four. I would rather have fewer of those Gitzo locks to
deal with so the 1227 is more appealing. I also like the addedheight. 4", I
think.
