In most, if not all, nations, the country of origin is where the final
assembly is done.  Hence, your American-made car might have an engine built
in Canada, an air conditioner compressor from Japan, and an automatic
transmission from Europe, but it is "Made in the USA" if the components are
assembled there into final shape.
