Robert, I wear mine sailing most of the time, but often instead of the chin strap I use a line with two alligator clips (standard issue sailor stuff for the uninitiated). Feels better. But on the fly bridge of a power boat a full speed the chin strap is a must. The problem with baseball caps (besides REALLY looking nerdy) is the one size fits all designs leave this strap dangling when worn backwards and the alligator clips strap gets twisted around your head when you turn the brim around. As I demonstrated recently in Nova Scotia, a hard hat works just fine backwards for photography and has a certain flare. But, gaud I hate tromping around in steel toed heavy shoes. donal - -- Donal Philby San Diego www.donalphilby.com
